The Prime Desert Woodland Preserve is a scenic location nestled in an urban area. Visitors can relax and enjoy nature and learn about the plants and animals that live in the region. The Lancaster Museum of Art and History designed the new exhibition here. It explores the flora, fauna, geology, native peoples, and historical figures through an interactive experience. The interpretive center also includes a petroglyph and pictograph where visitors can make their own pictographs in chalk. In addition, there is an excavation station, an expanded library and reading area, and a touch table. Regular workshops are also available.
Whether you can attend the Sunset Soiree or just want to visit on your own, everyone living in West Palmdale is invited to come experience the Prime Desert Woodland Preserve. Come for an event or just come for the day. The regular hours for the interpretive center are Saturdays, Sundays, and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
