Keep Your Dog Cool

Do you have a dog at your Lancaster real estate? It can get hot in the summer and many dog owners are looking for ways to keep their canine companions cool and comfortable. The City of Palmdale is offering a fun event called Keeping Canines Cool With Pools. Come meet other dog owners and enjoy some time in the great outdoors. This event will take place on Tuesday, August 23rd at Sam Yellen Park and Dog Park, which is located at 5100 E. Avenue S in Palmdale. Come between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m to enjoy some music while your dog keeps cool in the pools. Pop-up dog pools will be available in both the small and large dog areas.

If you can’t make it on this day, plan another time to come visit Sam Yellen Park and Dog Park. This large park was developed in 2017 and has much to offer those who live in Palmdale and Lancaster real estate. The park hours are 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. There are covered picnic tables in each dog enclosure, a multipurpose field, an adventure playground area with a zipline, fitness stations, benches, restrooms, and covered picnic areas.

When you are at your West Lancaster home, here are a few tips for keeping your dog cool. First, keep your dog hydrated. Provide plenty of water and put ice cubes in the bowl when it’s really hot. Also, keep your indoor temperature down. If you don’t have air conditioning, put frozen water bottles near your dog’s bed and elevate the bed to allow for a breeze. Other tips include giving your dog frozen treats or toys and adjusting your walking schedule. You don’t want to take your dog out when the day’s heat is at its peak. Last, consider setting up a pool in your own backyard. If your dog is new to swimming, gradually introduce him or her to the water.
