Celebrate the Fourth of July
There are many ways for those living in West Palmdale to celebrate Independence Day. The community calendar has several events to choose from. On Monday, July 4th, bring your kids to Domenic Massari Park or Marie Kerr Park. There will be field day fun at both parks as well as free 4th of July giveaways while supplies last. Staff will be at the park to offer games and equipment to engage kids in fun and memorable play. Come to the park closest to your West Palmdale home between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. to take part in the festivities. Domenic Massari Park is located at 37716 55th St. and Marie Kerr Park is located at 39700 30th St. West.
If you are interested in purchasing your own fireworks, you can visit the fireworks stand. This is located in the Walmart Supercenter Parking lot at 40130 10th St. West in Palmdale. The stand is open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. June 27th through July 4th. The Antelope Valley Chamber of Commerce will have an assortment of colorful fireworks to choose from. Light up the sky yourself, just be sure to be safe.
Unfortunately, the usual fireworks display at Antelope Valley Fairgrounds has been canceled this year. This is due to the event’s vendor being found engaging in alleged illegal activity. This incident has left several cities without their normal fireworks display. This can be disappointing for many families living in West Palmdale, but families can still make great memories together over this holiday weekend. Hopefully the event will be back next year. If you are interested in learning more about additional future events from the City of Palmdale, check out the community calendar here. There are many things coming up, including aquatics events, toddler time, soup kitchens, Music in the Parks, and more.
